has anyone played this freeware version by retrospec?...it's absolute top quality and easily more than good enough for a commercial release...it's probably the best remake i have seen and played so far.
all the rooms and puzzles are there, the graphics are great with nice colourful backdrops and the sound is pretty good too... in fact the conversion is so perfect i'm posting a link to the site for it here for anyone who hasn't yet played this version.

a small idea...but hows about including a section in the next issue of Zzap dedicated to PC remakes of these C64 classics?...there seem to be plenty out there now

That's pretty retro news.
But indeed a brilliant 'conversion', probably bettering the original.
Based on the Speccy game though.
Head over Heels is really one of the best games ever made.
I remember myself mapping the whole thing.
Never got into the jump trick, so I only returned to Freedom without any crown, although I found a couple, just couldn't grab them.
Totally ACE!

Once again I emerge from beneath a massive pile of paper which makes my desk groan to bring you the world’s most amazing posts.

i had a feeling it might be old news but it's the first i heard about this one
i'm just really impressed by it, and although i prefer the music on the C64 version, the control feels somewhat easier on this, best version i've played.
there must be a fair few retro C64 games about that made it unoffically onto PC by now.

If you are a fan of 'Skool Daze', you should play 'Klass of 99' - Its like 'Skool Daze mixed with the Speccy sequel ('Back To Skool') and given a paint job!
